Westfield State president, students plan second "late-night breakfast"

Westfield State College President Evan S. Dobelle has found that the optimum time to become better acquainted with the students is over breakfast — at 11 p.m. The president’s previous late-night breakfast in February was so well received that he has planned another for 11 p.m. Monday, May 5, in the Dining Commons.

“Students are wide awake at 11 p.m. and it is a great pleasure for me to be able to interact with them in their own time zone,” Dobelle said.  “I look forward to meeting more of them on Monday.”

About 800 hundred students showed up for “breakfast” in February after members of the Student Government Association (SGA) spread the word about the president’s visit.

Dobelle has made interacting with students a priority.  The new president, a Pittsfield resident, arrived on campus in January, and been staying in the college’s new residence hall, while he and his wife, Kit, search for a new home in Westfield.
