Admission Decisions

Admission is selective and decisions are made on an individual basis by the Admission staff after a careful review of all required application materials. The quality of an applicant's academic record, including grades earned, cumulative grade point average, the level and distribution of courses taken, and SAT-I scores (where required) are the most important considerations. The staff also looks at other criteria, including co-curricular activities, community involvement, leadership skills, and letters of recommendation. These factors are considered important indicators of an applicant's ability to contribute to the Westfield State College community. Freshman and Transfer applicants who meet minimum eligibility requirements set by the Massachusetts Board of Higher Education and Westfield State College are not guaranteed admission.

Carefully read the instructions on the 'How to Apply' page before attempting to fill out your application for admission. Be sure to answer every item pertaining to your applicant type.

Admission applications for the full-time undergraduate day division are no longer being accepted for the fall 2008 semester. Admission applications for the fall and spring 2009 semesters will be available in September. 

• Fall Freshman Application - February 1
• Fall Transfer Application - March 1
• Spring Application - November 15
